If you enjoy painting as much as I do then you know how important it is to properly care for your paint brushes. Proper care allows your brushes to last longer and paint projects to go smoothly. I’m excited to share my process for cleaning my paint brushes with one of my favorite tools. I also have a special discount code to share with you for this amazing little gadget!

When you’re finished with a painting project, the first thing you’re going to want to do is gently rinse the paintbrush in water. Let me give you a quick tip - be sure not to push your brush to the bottom of your water jar or cup as this can damage the bristles over time! Just gently swirl your brush in your container of water, wipe along the lip of your container, and then press the bristles between a paper towel. By repeating this a couple of times you can get quite a bit of the paint off the brush.

While water alone can do a decent job, I really like to use my Brush Scrubby from The Stencilsmith. This tool is a total gamechanger! I notice that even after I think my brushes are clean, there is usually still more paint on the brushes. All you need to do is wet your paint brush, and run the bristles of your brush along the ridges of the Brush Scrubby. Adding a little bit of soap to the brush will help get your brushes squeaky clean. This amazing tool will help to keep your brush bristles clean and ready for your projects!

If you’re ready to get your hands on this convenient little tool, I’ve got a special treat for you! I am an affiliate for The Stencilsmith, and I have a code you can use to get 15% off your entire order. Be sure to use the code ARTSYMOON to save on your next Brush Scrubby (or any other goodies you find - I highly recommend the stencil brushes)!
